Fee vs Reimbursement

Most assignments pay a small fee plus reimbursement for a required purchase. Reimbursement is not income — it only helps if you'd have bought the item anyway.

The Report Is the Job

The Scam Pattern

You are sent a check, told to deposit it, keep a portion, and wire the rest to 'evaluate a money transfer service'. The check bounces later and the bank takes the money back from you. No legitimate company ever does this.
