How this calculator works
Multiplies the price out to a year and five years, and divides the monthly cost by how often you actually use it. A $16 service used twice a month is $8 a visit.
- Monthly cost: weekly price × 52 ÷ 12, monthly price as is, or yearly price ÷ 12.
- Per year = monthly × 12. Over 5 years = monthly × 60. Cost per use = monthly ÷ uses per month.
Worked example
With these inputs: price $15.99; billed Monthly; times you use it per month 6.
The result is per year $191.88, with per month $15.99 and over 5 years $959.40.
Do a subscription audit
List every recurring charge from the last two months of bank and card statements: streaming, music, cloud storage, apps, gym, delivery memberships, software. Run each through this calculator and sort by yearly cost. Anything with a high cost per use is a cancellation candidate.
